With 20 years of experience as a family child care business owner and another decade working in the early education and care field, I learned something important very early on: many tax professionals simply don’t understand the unique rules that apply to home daycare tax returns. And when they don’t understand the rules, providers lose money they’ve rightfully earned.

I discovered this firsthand the day I picked up my own tax return and realized the preparer hadn’t calculated my time/space percentage or included several essential home-related expenses. That moment made something crystal clear to me: to prepare an accurate home daycare tax return, you must use proper time/space calculations and maintain precise records of both business and household expenses. Anything less leaves money on the table.

That experience shaped my mission. I am committed to helping home daycare providers, and other specialized small business owners, keep every dollar they are entitled to at tax time.
